The matern milk supply perfect balance nutrutional and strengthens imunologic system of the baby through of the imunologic transfer of mother to son, and this reforce else breast-feeding exclusive since the six monthe of age newborn. We investigate the components of the milk, in which the imunoglobulina A (IgA), found abundatly in colostro, obtains biggest relevance between the others. The objective is understand the protective effect and action of the IgA in the fight the colonization of pathogenic microorganism in newborn during exclusive breast-feeding. This work consists of a bibliography systematic review was realized, searched in article and monography. In results was observed that IgA ensures baby protection forming protective barrier for all newborn mucous, it stopped the great occupation of malefic bacteria on the surface of the tecidos, decreasing infections and consequent diseases caused by them, for example: diarrhea, gastroenteritis, respiratory infections and gastrointestinal infections, bacteremia and newborn sepsis. The IgA provides immune protection by strengthening the immunity of breastfed babies. Therefore, it is important to present this knowledge and disseminate it efficiently to large part of brazilian population, who still do not know informations about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding in the first 6 months of life.
