MORTALITY OF COVID-19 IN PREGNANT WOMEN: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines maternal death as “the death of women during pregnancy or within a period of 42 days after termination of pregnancy, due to the high risk of lethality of the disease. as a risk group for Covid-19. Objectives: to identify the evidence available in the literature on COVID-19 disease mortality in pregnant women. Methods: this is an integrative literature review. Searches were carried out using the descriptors and Boolean operators AND and OR, in the PUBMED AND VHL (Virtual Health Library) database, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Results: 55 articles were found, 42 articles were excluded after reading the title, 5 articles were excluded after reading the abstracts. Making part for full reading 6 articles. After complete reading, 1 article was excluded. Conclusion: Through the methodology used, it is observed that the mortality of COVID-19 in pregnant women is high, with dismal outcomes for pregnant women who contract this virus. In view of this, more public policies should be made for this specific group of the population.
