Osteomas are considered benign bone growth tumors composed of cortical or medullary bone tissue that mainly affect the craniofacial area and more often the mandible with other bone structures being rarely affected. They are usually asymptomatic, single-site and slow- growing lesions. The most frequent sites of occurrence are the mandibular body and the condyle; when these areas are affected, changes may occur in the patient's occlusion, progressive and slow deviation of the midline, increase in facial volume accompanied by pain and restriction of mouth opening. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the importance of treating osteoma by surgical intervention and the patient's perception of the postoperative period. Showing that surgical intervention is important mainly from the aesthetic point of view, since the patient will feel better, directly influencing their psychological health. Always aiming at the patient's well-being, since, even without causing pain, depending on the size, the tumor can cause discomfort.
