Abstract

The present work aims to carry out an analysis of the history of punishment in Brazil and in the world and how the collapse of the Brazilian prison model is a topic of great relevance that requires efforts to change this scenario. In order to propose a solution to this complex problem, we have the APAC method, which is a new model of prison self-administration, with a very different treatment from the traditionally applied model. With the analysis of the APAC method and its results for more than 40 years, it is evident that this model is an alternative to the prison crisis in the country, however, there is still a lot of work for the implementation and success of this new model, and a change in humanitarian principles is also necessary. of the community.
