THE RELEVANCE OF THE MARIA DA PENHA PATROL TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Violence against women is a reality present in the lives of most women, regardless of their economic status, race or ethnicity. The magnitude of aggression, however, varies. It is more frequent in countries with a prevailing male culture, and less in cultures that seek egalitarian solutions to gender differences. The Brazilian State, with Maria da Penha's struggle, enacted Law 11,340/06, in order to curb and prevent violence against women, signing in several international conferences. The present study is a bibliographic research, elaborated through bibliographic research, citations and laws, in order to deal with the principles of abusive relationships, as it was created, and the discovery on the subject over time. The scientific community is of paramount importance, due to the consequences in which violence against women causes both the victim and the society around them. Generating values in which the reality that the country and the legislation seeks to guarantee are inherent. To show that even in the present times abuses are increasing, the difficulty of perception and the fear that exists among them when ending this cycle and the means to combat this problem. The exercise of citizenship, the guarantee of human rights, equality, and changing the situation of women's fragility in a society dominated by men, still imposes other practical measures, backed by community policing, pending legislative innovations that guarantee full compliance with the Law now in comment.
