Aging is biologically common. There is civil personality from birth and consequently, over time, there are obligations and rights to be exercised, however, elderly people are sometimes affected by obstacles that make it difficult to exercise their civil acts. In this sense, the study of Supported Decision Making for the elderly, aims to provide opportunities for them to have the possibility of choosing people who are supportive in decision-making without earning directly on their physical or psychological state. Thus, this article aims to identify the requirements for carrying out supported decision-making, identify vulnerabilities that justify the need for people to be covered by supported decision-making, respecting the assurance principles for its effectiveness.
