Objective: Evidence and review about the aspects that involve the intrusion of deciduous teeth, enabling dental surgeons for a safe and quality professional intervention. Bibliographic review: The occurrence of dental trauma mainly affects children and adolescents, and is an extremely frequent emergency care event in dental practice. Its occurrence requires a broad knowledge of the dentist to enable the conduction of anamnesis, clinical examination and diagnostic complementation; thus facilitating the understanding of the type and extent of the lesion, essential for an excellent technical-operative management, favoring the prognosis of the trauma. In the field of pediatric dentistry, although it is not the most common type of trauma, dental intrusion assumes a prominent role due to the potential to cause damage to the germs of permanent teeth in formation. Final considerations: The degree of intrusion is classified according to the percentage of visualization of the clinical crown in the dental arch and important assessments related to the age of the child, stage of development of the deciduous or permanent tooth, intensity, type and duration of impact determine the extent and severity of the impact. injury. The relevance of the topic is supported not only by the frequency and consequences of trauma, but also by the level of psychological impact perceived on the child and family members.
