ANALYSIS OF FLUOXETINE QUALITY CONTROL ANALYTICAL METHODS

Abstract

Depression is currently among the most prevalent diseases on the planet, drastically interfering with the quality of life of individuals. Fluoxetine has been widely used and for this reason, analysis methodologies for control and quality have been explored, the determination of drug concentration levels in biological fluids is of paramount importance for the establishment of safe standards of concentration and administration, in addition to In order to contribute to the deepening of studies on the pharmacodynamics of the drug, the present study is the result of an exploratory and later qualitative bibliographic research, through a process of searching for the scientific evidence produced between the period 2012 and 2022, using the BIREME/ LILAC and PUBMED, only 150 productions were identified that deal with quality determination methodologies aimed at fluoxetine, with only 15 articles being listed that support the present study. The study results in evidence that the separation methodologies are the most appropriate and explored in the academic environment, with chromatography being more relevant, having applicability and effectiveness in biological fluids.
