This article has the objective to study and analyze the internationals norms for protection of the climate and atmosphere. Because it´s a theme with world relevance, essential is the mention of the norms of international law with scope to preserve the environment. It´s notable on international order the Vienna Convention and it provisions on the law of treaties, as well the Montreal Protocol, besides the aspects related to the United Nations Framework Convention and the consequent Kyoto Protocol that aim to reduce the “greenhouse effect” problem, among other important agreements cited. In addition, Brazil’s participation in these agreements and conventions was also addressed. Finally, it will be concluded on the necessity for countries to adhere to and comply referred treaties in order to preserve the environment on planet Earth.
