Abstract

In a very evident way, contemporary society has chosen an aesthetic pattern of a smile, and Dentistry, responding to this collective desire, has developed in a constant and perfected way, modern materials and techniques that provide oral rehabilitation from the perspective of form, and aesthetics. The improvement of therapeutic treatments with a high aesthetic result, where the best performance of aesthetic treatments offers a broad result of the technical choice, where it offers the solution directly or indirectly, proposed as an efficient solution in offering the result. Thus, the application of ceramic laminates has been repeatedly interpreted as an instrument of choice, since it allows results that combine color and shape harmony, translating into the aesthetic harmony of the smile. It must meet the scientific precepts defended by dentistry, which provides for an association of its specific application and the application of the specific technique to meet the user's needs. As a dental material, Porcelain has excellent translucency, fluorescence, chemical stability, linear thermal temperature coefficient, and compatibility, which justify its predilection and still presents great resistance to abrasion. This research presents the study on the aesthetic capacity and the functionality presented in the applicability of the technique of ceramic laminates. It is presented in the form of a narrative literature review, through the following access to the databases: Virtual Health Library (VHL), Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), MEDLINE, and LILACS. Articles in Portuguese selected, which meet the research objectives and which meet were presented were updated and consistently, published from 2003 to 2022. It is clear, therefore, that the diagnosis in question, the improved planning, and the unrestricted adhesion of the product, mainly, the preconized operational steps are potentiators for the amount of satisfaction at the end presented in the restorations with ceramic laminates.
