A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) helps the execution of tasks, reduces failures, but ending the resistance of employees can be an easy task when everyone is involved. This work aims to present concepts of a Standard Operating Procedure within a Lean Production System and describe its implementation process in the light line engine cell of a tractor factory. As a method, a case study was chosen in a tractor assembly company in the Alto Tietê region, São Paulo. The results showed that the documents created had clarity both in the photos and in the descriptions and sequencing and that they were made available in easy access in digital format, on a totem inside the cell, as well as in printed cards format at the entrance to it. It was concluded that In order to better manage industrial production, it is necessary to plan and produce clear information, in appropriate documents that are easily accessible in order to avoid reproducibility problems, whose absence discourages successful implementation.
