The following article seeks to investigate the possible relationship between sociocultural factors and the development of Eating Disorders, more specifically regarding Anorexia Nervosa (AN), understanding it as a disorder whose development may be linked to body image and pressures that are linked to the standard of beauty considered ideal by society. It can be observed that its highest incidence is found in females. Therefore, it is assumed that the beauty and aesthetic standards present in recent decades, as well as the reinforcement that such standards have as a result of the influence on social networks, may be contributing to the high incidence of this disorder. Through psychological bias, we will also discuss in this article Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), highlighting the understanding of the approach to the disorder in question, as well as its contributions to the treatment of individuals who suffer from Anorexia Nervosa. Based on the methodology of bibliographic research, materials such as articles and books whose content could contribute to the hypotheses raised in this article were reviewed.
