Hormones such as estrogen and progesterone are closely linked to the development of mammary neoplasms in dogs, related to the development of the breasts, which can generate problems such as hyperplasia or mammary neoplasms, in addition to abortion, cystic ovary and pyometra. Mastectomy is the surgical procedure performed to remove one or several mammary glands, while the flap technique is used to correct large-scale surgeries that could not be sutured by conventional techniques. The objective was to describe this report as a technique to be added to the surgical routine of veterinary medicine. A 12-year-old female dog was treated, complaining of a large breast mass, which the owner initially believed to be "stone milk", due to the act of sucking that the female performed on her breasts. Unilateral mastectomy and subsequent flap performance were indicated to correct the surgical wound. Blood count, biochemicals, assessment of clotting time, radiography, ultrasound and biopsy were requested. Where the biopsy found the presence of different breast tumors and lymphatic metastasis. It is concluded with this work the technique of mastectomy associated with the flap, it can be used safely as long as it is applied correctly. It is mainly used in plastics in regions where large and malignant tumors are removed, where high safety margins are required.
