Abstract

This work aims to approach the generation of marine energy through the oceans in a clean and sustainable way and with zero emissions of pollutant gases, with the objective of developing a park of marine current turbines for the generation of electrical energy and mention about the main enterprises of conversion of the ocean energy into electrical energy that were implanted in Brazil. The study of the tides, what they are, how they are formed, their forecast, and also the sea currents, how they are presented and some technologies of marine current turbines existing in the current market and around the world, and countries with the largest developments of this technology and use will be addressed. The study shows that the Bay of São Marcos has a great potential for generating electricity from marine currents, and thus diversifying and strengthening the Brazilian energy matrix.
