This paper discusses the application of a post-occupancy evaluation (PPA) in the Floriano Peixoto Square in Imperatriz/MA. This square underwent a process of renovation and urban renewal in 2020 and, thus, the need to evaluate the performance of the public open space after its renovation was perceived. Mapping and data research regarding the square and its occupation process were carried out, as well as the characterization of its surroundings and its users. The methodology used for the development of this article started with a bibliographic research about landscape, open spaces, urban squares and post-occupancy evaluation, followed by the application of quantitative and qualitative methods through OPA and "in loco" data survey for the recognition of the study area. The field analysis, mapping, and questionnaire evaluation of the users' point of view about the square allowed a reflection about the performance of the public space generating results for possible reforms and future projects.
