This article sought to present the benefits of physical therapy intervention in fibrosis in the postoperative period of liposuction. This is a literature review using articles published in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MedLine), Scientific Electronic Library (SciELO) ) and Virtual Health Library (VHL). The search took place from August to September 2022 using the combination of the descriptors: Fibrosis. Physiotherapy. Lipectomy duly registered in DeCS, through the Boolean operator AND. Articles available in full were selected, published in Portuguese and English, focused on the object of this study and published between 2012 and 2022. Abstracts, literature reviews, monographs, theses and dissertations were excluded. The research consisted of 7 articles where the physiotherapy procedures used were manual lymphatic drainage, therapeutic ultrasound, radiofrequency, massage therapy, myofascial release, lymphotaping, use of microcurrent, red LED and combined therapy through Aussie current and ultrasound. The conducts showed excelente results in reducing the fibrous areas and the appearance of the fibrosis that remained, both in the reduction of measurements and pain in the areas of fibrosis. It was possible to determine the procedures used in the treatment of fibrosis in the postoperative period of liposuction, which has been shown to reduce the formation of fibrosis and delay the fibrotic condition.
