The objective of this case report is to describe the closure of the midline diastema, with resin composed by the free hand technique. The patient attended the clinic of the University of Brazil complaining that her front teeth were open and she wanted to close the spaces. The proposed treatment was the closing of the diastema with composite resin and the same done by free hand. Adjustments and finishing performed on the restorations and the patient was satisfied with the results. It concluded that the closing of diastemas with composite resin allows a very favorable aesthetic result, as in the case described. With correct diagnosis and elaboration of an adequate treatment plan, one can reach the final goal, that is, an aesthetic and functional end, as well as the patient satisfaction with the obtained result.
