Abstract

The main objective of this article reveals itself as being to promote a historical construction about the figurative constitution of the Devil through human historicity, in order to elucidate pertinent questions involving the way in which individuals from the past, with emphasis on the medieval period, interpreted this emblematic figure. In addition, this theme is correlated with the electronic video game Doom, whose main feature is revealed to be directly facing the infernal evils through the use of brute force, highlighting a drastic cultural change in relation to the fear of the Devil and his demoniac legions.
