This study aimed to evaluate the influence of diets on patients with heart disease associated with hypertension who presented at the Hospital Regional da Cela. Twenty patients participated in this study, most of which were male, there is a difficulty in diagnosing heart diseases as such, because in the hospital in question there are no cardiologists nor a cardiology section, most of the identified cases are sent to huambo. Hypertension cases are also rarely treated as outpatients. Most patients have a regular weight for age, which rules out the link between the disease and obesity, perhaps genetic factors have a strong link with the disease. The incidence of the disease is higher with advancing age. Diet as well as lifestyle have a greater influence, since most patients consume alcohol, there is a high rate of consumption of refined cereals as well as the consumption of dried and canned fish derivatives, although perhaps this would not be the only cause the absence of physical exercises as well as a sedentary lifestyle also influence the onset of the disease. The main symptoms presented by the studied patients are arrhythmias, fatigue, edema, dyspnea, tachpenia. The diagnosis is made based on the patient's complaints and an exam that is often summarized in the evaluation of blood pressure, which often justifies the difficulty of diagnosing other diseases related to the cardiovascular system, perhaps due to the lack of devices and equipment for the said diagnosis.
