Gingivoplasty is a gingival plastic surgery technique used to change the architecture (shape) of the gums that surround the teeth, whether for aesthetic or functional purposes. The indications of gingivoplasty are wide and range from the alignment of the gums and correction of the gummy smile to adaptations to restore health during the treatment of periodontitis. The purpose of this study was to present a clinical case in which an aesthetic clinical crown was increased in the maxillary central incisors, in order to improve the patient's gingival aesthetics. The technique used was gingivectomy to remove excess gingival tissue, since the distance between the cemento-enamel junction and the alveolar bone crest was adequate. After the treatment, the patient was satisfied with the result, increasing her self-esteem by smiling. In this way, it is concluded that through an accurate diagnosis and selection of the appropriate gingival plastic surgery technique, it is possible to obtain aesthetic results that contribute to raising the self-esteem of patients.
