Surgical procedures for hernia repair have increased throughout Brazil. In order not only to correct the protrusion but to improve the living conditions of the population affected by the pathology. The following study aimed to evaluate the sociodemographic profile and spatial location of the incidences of the surgical procedure for abdominal herniorrhaphy, being them exclusively of procedures performed in the umbilical and inguinal region in the state of Paraná and the demand in its 399 cities. Data were collected in DataSUS using the SIH-RD system, with the CID'S: K40.0 and K42.0 and later analyzed in graphs and tables with the main variables showing sex, age, deaths and total number of procedures. For the spatial analysis, the cities with the highest and lowest demand for the herniorrhaphy procedure, according to the municipality of residence, were evidenced. Since herniorrhaphy is a procedure with great demand in the state of Paraná, with a great predominance in males, we still have the impasse that we have few cities which perform the operation, with the displacement of patients to the nearest reference city showing us the deficit of accessibility in which the state of Paraná is with the procedure.
