COMPETENCE-BASED MANAGEMENT IN A FAMILY BUSINESSES: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Competency-based management is studied in family businesses. The objectives of this study are: to study the concept of management by competence in organizations and identify and describe the state of the art of studies on management by competence in the management of family businesses. This is a narrative literature review. a literature review, carried out in the Google Scholar database, the time frame of the search was from 2000 to 2020. The results showed that most of the published works are in English, followed by works in Spanish in which some studies were observed of case in others the proposal of a structure of a management by competence and there are still others that make reflections and theoretical proposals. It was concluded that, in family businesses, although there is little research in open databases, there are researchers interested in the subject, since this management model can meet solutions for the complexity of internal interests, so that there is a succession and the family has financial stability over generations and at the same time can offer quality products/services, with competitiveness and excellence.
