The present work intends to present a retrospective of when 3D printing was reated, its initial applications and its advances until it was used in the health area, with the creation of living tissues, customization of orthoses and prostheses, anatomical models among countless other functions. The objective of this study is,therefore, to address the current uses of 3D technology in medicine, discussing the numerous possibilities of future applications for this technique. As materials and methods, it is qualitative bibliographic research carried out through a systematic review of the current literature. Within the results, it is important to note that the three-dimensional pieces allowed several areas of health to benefit from the use of spinal prototypes, creation of a skullcap to skin impression. Highlighting some difficulties such as cost and production time. The research proposes to understand the causes and effects of the theme presented as well as a description of it bringing relevant information to interested professionals.
