THE NURSE'S PERFORMANCE IN THE SURGICAL CENTER AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT TO THE PATIENT AND THEIR FAMILY

Abstract

The main intention of the respective study is to deal with the theme of the nurse's role in the surgical center and the psychological support to the patient and their families, having Humanized Nursing as the area of ​​concentration. It has the general objective of reviewing the literature, as the role of nurses in the surgical center and psychological support, can contribute in a beneficial way to the patient and their families. The methodological procedure that structures this work is arranged in a literature review format, of a qualitative nature, under an exploratory-bibliographic dialogue, with the authors of in-depth research. It is believed that with this work, one can contribute to the literature that covers the subject in question, favoring future studies, which intend to address the importance of nursing work, with regard to offering to the patient and to their families, a psychological and humanized care, thus contributing to alleviate possible doubts and concerns caused by the surgical procedures. At the end of this study, it is concluded that, how important the work of nursing will be, because they have a holistic and humanized look when providing assistance to the patient and their family, during the period in which they are in the operating room.
