Rabies is a disease that stands out for being an acute viral, progressive encephalomyelitis whose recognition and diagnosis are very difficult. Human rabies prophylaxis schemes in Brazil include post-exposure rabies prophylaxis and vaccination of people at risk. This study aimed to outline an epidemiological profile on Human Rabies in the Municipality of Vassouras-RJ of the last decade, highlighting the value of the rabies vaccine by increasing the epidemiological data of a municipal area. This is a descriptive and quantitative epidemiological survey from 2010 to 2018, on the prophylaxis of Human Rabies, whose documentary basis was the Information System for Diseases of Notifications (SINAN). Of the 168 records analyzed, 63 (37.50%) had serum and vaccine as the indicated treatment, of which none interrupted the completion of treatment. Therefore, the study is important, since it shows the control and the commitment to pay for the region's zoonosis.
