THE IMPORTANCE OF VITAMINS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS IN DENTISTRY, WITH EMPHASIS IN PERIODONTAL DISEASE

Vitamins have several biological and biochemical functions, giving the body precursors responsible for helping its development, being essential in the repair of bones and teeth. In this sense, the problem to be researched is: What are the consequences of vitamin deficiencies for dental integrity and how to reverse the problem? With the following objectives, analysis of the vitamins with the highest deficiency rates in the country and means to combat the problem, understand the view of dental professionals on the case and describe oral diseases caused by vitamin deficiencies, considering their bioavailability, describe the importance of fat-soluble vitamins in dental tissue repair and blood clotting and to investigate possible causes of gingival bleeding based on deficiencies of water-soluble vitamins, especially B-complex vitamins, taking into account the ability of vitamins to promote tissue repair. This research will be informative, field and descriptive. It will have 10 participants and will be held in the city of Teresina-PI. The inclusion criteria for articles will be: Research with up to 11 years of publication, which have a declaration of authenticity and which do not deviate from the topic being researched. Data will be collected based on the authenticity of articles taken from the following websites: SCIELO, EBSCO, ACADEMIC PUBLICATIONS OF UNIVERSIDADE CAPIXABA, ACADEMICAL PUBLICATIONS OF UNCATÓLICA NA JOURNAL ODONTOLÓGICA, MAGAZINES UNG/ARTICLE VIEW/2486, REPOSITORY UNICAMP, REVODONTO UNESP AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OSWALDO CHAGAS and will undergo an authenticity analysis on the Docwx website. In view of the exposed content, it is expected to achieve a greater understanding of the vitamins necessary for successful dental management, as well as the implications of their absence on oral health.
