THE NURSE'S PERFORMANCE AGAINST THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Objective: To analyze, based on scientific evidence, the importance of nursing in a pandemic moment. Method: Integrative review of the literature on the role of nursing in the face of covid-19. Results: The discussion was conducted by 3 cores of meaning, they are: Leadership, management, autonomy, protagonism and recognition; Adaptations, changes, training and patient care; Overload, lack of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), shortage of professionals, exposure to risk on the front line, poor working conditions and pay. Final considerations: Facing the unknown is not an easy task, mainly associated with poor working conditions and pay, lack of PPE and devaluation, but nursing professionals stand out, entering the front line, giving their best as a manager, leader and caregiver, and showed how this class is essential for the functioning of a health system. Equipped with skills, techniques and competence, acting within the promotion, prevention and recovery of these patients.
