ANALYSIS OF THE FUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF GEOSCIENCES OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CATARINA

Abstract

This work intended to address and entered the theme Administrative Processes, aimed to perform an Organizational analysis in the Public Sector, more specifically in a Brazilian federal university, in this case the Federal University of Santa Catarina. And as its main objective was to analyze whether the functional structure of the Department of Geosciences at the Federal University of Santa Catarina is effective for a good functioning. This works well in accordance with the parameters established by renowned authors in the field who excel in quality and efficiency. As a question, the following question was highlighted, whether the Department of Geosciences at a structural and functional level is at an adequate level for a good functioning. Subsequently, as specific objectives, the department's organizational structure was analyzed, the quality of the department's process flowcharts was subsequently reviewed, and after this the report on the decision-making process by the Department's manager was made. Geosciences. In the methodology used, it is intended for greater knowledge on the subject to be used in exploratory research, documents from the department were analyzed, official documents used in the routine of this sector of the public service. Including legislation that accurately describes the routine of this department. Also for a better understanding of the facts, descriptive research was used in order to observe, record, analyze and correlate facts and phenomena and their variables. Bibliographic research was also used using books and scientific articles on the various topics used in the research. Every routine in this department was analyzed in the form of observation in order to understand all its functioning. Subsequently the research was analyzed and presented the research data and its results and final conclusions.
