CHARACTERIZATION OF ACCIDENTS BY VENOMOUS ANIMALS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NEW WORLD- MT 2015 TO 2020

This article sought to describe the profile of accidents with venomous animals in the municipality of Novo Mundo – Mato Grosso. Method: a descriptive, documentary research with a quantitative approach was carried out, based on the National System of Notifications and Diseases. Data from notifications of accidents caused by venomous animals in the Municipality of Novo Mundo were analyzed, being: type of accident, gender, age and final classification of the case. Cases notified between 2015 and 2020 were used. Results: the attendances by contact with venomous animals were measured, which totaled 39 notifications, of which 13% were by contact with Caterpillars, were stung by Lacraia 10% scorpion stings 26% , spider bites 20%, snakebites 13%, bee stings 23%. There is an average age between 20 and 49 years, most accidents in rural areas and mild cases, with emphasis on one death by bee. Conclusion: In view of the above, it is evident how important the prevention of accidents with venomous animals is and the need for public policies to face and implement health education strategies for the communities served.
