Absenteeism. Student and school physical education.Abstract
This monograph aims to reflect and characterize school physical education applied in schools and how its contents are treated by the teacher and offered to students, more specifically the discipline offered for the 9th grade of elementary school final years, because it is a age group in which students have a more concrete thought about their practices and actions inside and outside the school walls. A topic of great importance that is addressed in this work is student abstention in physical education classes, a factor of extreme importance for the educational environment and to explain if the same occurs only because students do not like to practice physical activities. Attention will also be given to its roots and possible explanations for this phenomenon so present today. The repetition of content in the last year of elementary school combined with the lack of planning and pedagogical treatment of the discipline, lack of materials and resources for compliance of school activities, contribute to the abstention of students from classes and the creation of an unfavorable environment for educational growth. We recognize that in order to try to solve the problem of student absenteeism, a more in-depth study of its causes is necessary, but with the literature review it is possible to show the role of physical education in school and trace paths for students to actively participate in classes.
