This article sought to verify which are the main risk factors that may be associated with the development of obesity in pre and post pandemic adolescence. Methodology: A literature review was carried out with the search for works published between 2012 and 2022 on the subject on the following platforms: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Online System for Search and Analysis of Medical Literature (MEDLINE) and Latin American Literature and of the Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS). As a result, some factors that contributed to obesity were evidenced, among them, high consumption of energy foods, lack of physical exercise and socioeconomic aspects, with the aggravation of these factors in the Pandemic. Conclusions: Several biopsychosocial variables were possibly related to pre-pandemic obesity and the stress and anxiety generated mainly by restrictive measures, contributed to the increase in overweight and obesity among adolescents during the pandemic. One of the main causes identified were psychological variables with symptoms of stress and anxiety.
