Abstract

The objective of this work is to understand the professional performance and to act as a specialized practice and restricted to social workers inserted in the field of mental health.  The method used was a bibliographic study and, in conclusion, it was found that the performance and development of a professional in the field of mental health is essential for the multidisciplinary activities carried out in the RAPS, especially in the CAPS.  Democracy guarantees the effectiveness of social rights to users and insertion among the sectoral networks involved, being an intervention in the various expressions of social issues of users and families.
