Abstract

This article is the result of a clinical experience with psychoanalytic guidance during supervised internship in a Psychology course’s school clinic. The method is a case study based on the psychoanalysis of Freud and Lacan. The objective is to discuss the formation of the symptom and the constitution of the subject based on Freud’s Family Novels. The treatment allowed a partial resolution of the symptom, through the construction of an analytical path of listening to the signifiers and incitement of desire. This work is not conclusive, but rather raises reflections over the role of case studying in the construction of clinical praxis under the light of psychoanalysis.
