In this article, we present the concepts about virtual learning environments from a multidisciplinary perspective. Therefore, the question is: how can we have meaningful learning through VLEs? We hypothesize the use of VLEs and TDICs as means of meaningful learning, through multiliteracies and gamifications. We have as specific objectives: (i) to verify the importance of VLEs; (ii) describe the associations between linguistics, education and technology in the VLEs as the main objects of this study and (iii) implement, through the theories studied, a contextualized VLE. The corpus selected for this study, in the area of linguistics, were clippings of verbal interactions through VLEs, in a polite and impolite way. What justifies the choice of theme is the fact that currently there is a constant use of TDICs, especially in the pandemic context. The theoretical framework that supports this work are the studies on Pragmatics and Interactional Sociolinguistics by Brown & Levinson (1987), Cabral & Albert (2017), Goffman (1967), Kerbrat-orecchioni (2005) and Spencer-Oatey (2000). Studies on AVAs by Moran (2002), Mondim (2013), Milligan (1999). Studies on Cazden's multiliteracies; Cope; Fairclogh et al (1996), Rojo (2008; 2010; 2013; 2017; 2021). Studies on Linguistics and Philosophy of Language by Marchuschi (2008) and Barthes (1984). The methodology used in the research is typological - Marinho and Vasconcelos (2011) -, its approach is qualitative, applied in nature, with an exploratory objective. Technical procedures were used - bibliographic and experimental. The results achieved confirm that it is necessary to be careful with verbal interaction and highlight significant knowledge through VLEs. In this way, we show that virtual learning environments aim at the integration of knowledge through virtualization, so conversational exchanges must have respect for hierarchy and targeted interaction without attacking the face of the other.
