CHARACTERIZATION OF RESEARCH GROUPS IN LITERACY AND SCIENTIFIC INITIATION IN BASIC EDUCATION

Abstract

The objective was to characterize the research groups in literacy and scientific initiation in national basic education, the composition of their researchers, in addition to the scientific productions, registered in the Directory of Research Groups (DGP) of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) . Data collection took place in October and November 2020 based on a search in public data on the DGP website and in the Lattes Curriculum of group leaders. From the descriptors used, 119 groups were found, and after a screening, 43 remained. Of these 30% (n=13) are located in the southeast of the country and 88% (n=38) of them are linked to federal higher education institutions . One hundred percent of the groups are led by PhD researchers, but the participation of masters, technicians and students is also significant. The result also showed, in these lines of research, that female participation in the leadership of research groups is quite representative and has been growing in recent years in quantity and quality, as in the dissemination and scientific communication in the publication of articles, books and periodicals.
