EUTHANASIA: RIGHT TO LIFE OR TO INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY?

The present study aims to make an analysis of the concept of euthanasia and its relevance to the current legal environment, seeking to understand the meaning, the forms that can occur and its variations. A study was carried out on the fundamental legal concepts and constitutional principles, in particular the dignity of the human person and individual freedom. In order to carry out this work, a wide-ranging research was carried out in all available media, doctrinal, jurisprudential and current legislation that had a relationship with the theme. Considerations were brought about the divergent views on the subject, at the end an analysis was carried out on the legalization of euthanasia in our legal order. In this article, bibliographic information was sought with the purpose of clarifying the conception of euthanasia for readers, its modalities, and the relationship with the right to life, the individual freedom and dignity of the human person, constitutional principles in force in our legislation.
