THE IMPACTS ON THE MENTAL HEALTH OF NURSES IN PORTO VELHO-RO IN ADDRESSING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

This article made it possible to reflect on the impacts on the mental health of nursing professionals in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking into account that these professionals were part of one of the most affected groups, since the pathology was unknown with the possibility of contagion and imminent death.The theme is part of the most discussed issues today, so the need to be analyzed due to the large number of deaths between 2020 and 2021, also taking into account the sequelae that directly impacted the context of life of these professionals, seeking to also help significantly in relation to the factors that, in the face of this pandemic scenario, has impacted the mental health of these professionals, mainly because we are still in contact with new discoveries and new measures to combat COVID-19. The method used was qualitative, with a sample of 05 (five) nursing professionals. The collection took place through an online questionnaire through the google forms platform, where we work with exploratory research. Data were analyzed through discourse analysis, based on the theoretical framework of phenomenology. Therefore, in the present research, it was possible to identify the experiences of these professionals, to allow a more critical look at their role during this process and the impacts caused by facing the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of nursing professionals in the city of Porto Velho-RO.
