The inventory management process is studied. This study aims to study how inventories and new technologies for inventory management can help ensure the accuracy of inventory information. This is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. A narrative literature review and a survey of existing documents in companies providing inventory management services, available on the web, were carried out. The results show that the lack of accuracy brings impacts to different sectors of the company, such as planning, production, sales and costs and that among the solutions to increase accuracy are: physical inventory, Just-in-time methodology, Kanban, Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and bar code, the latter speeds up the identification of products and provides a common language between transactions, whether national or international. It was concluded that inventory management has been growing in its technical, practical, and technological aspects. Technology has expanded its focus on improving accuracy, mainly in the sense of developing mechanisms for identifying goods at the national and international level, facilitating all sectors of the company, and minimizing the margin of error in accuracy.
