Process improvement is studied in order to achieve efficiency in the production area. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the current production process of an auto parts metallurgical plant, to identify and describe more efficient techniques to produce, optimizing the process and achieving better results. Thus, the methodology chosen in this study was the PDCA cycle, identifying the difficulties of the production process, the analysis and elaboration of actions, the execution of action plans, the verification of results and the standardization of the positive results that were obtained. The results showed that the process had productive inefficiency, and that it was necessary to correct the way in which that task was performed. It was then concluded that the replacement of the equipment for receiving the parts in the sub-lot was the main change to be made.
