ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF SALICYLIC AND IN THE TREATMENT OF ACNE VULGAR:AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Acne vulgaris is a skin disease with an easy clinical diagnosis that will be evaluated according to its symptoms and severity. Its treatment depends on the severity and possible reasons for the emergence of the pathology, such as aesthetic treatments and in some more advanced cases the drug association, which may be topical and/or oral. Objectives: To analyze the treatment of acne vulgaris with the use of salicylic acid. This is a bibliographic literature review of the qualitative and exploratory integrative method in online bibliographic databases. A search was performed by crossing descriptors and the Boolean operator AND in the MedLine and PubMed databases. Most SA used in the research had a concentration of 30%, and the other concentrations had few changes, however, the lowest concentration mentioned was 0.5% referenced only in one study, its applicability in staggered sessions followed with pre and After the procedure, the keratolytic, bacteriostatic, fungicidal and anti-inflammatory properties were evidenced, in addition to also containing exfoliative properties. The different concentrations of SA had a strong influence on its final therapeutic result, however, it does not change the properties contained in the substance, the way of use in the vast majority emphasizes correct hygiene as well as post-use care. It is concluded that the use of SA in the treatment of acne vulgaris is evidently effective, both the products that make up the substance and the procedures with the use of SA.
