Abstract

This study presents a prototype of an irrigation automation solution for small plantations. Agricultural irrigation automation consists of a set of devices integrated to the Arduino platform and to the control software. The research question is: "How to develop an irrigation automation project with low cost components?" To answer this question, an empirical research method was used, in which a prototype was built. The general objective of the work is to provide technological solutions for agricultural automation at low cost to serve small and medium-sized producers. Analyzing the results it was verified that it is possible to implement a low cost irrigation system, using Arduino.
