Hyaluronic acid (HA) is an asset that has several benefits for the skin. Although it is a natural substance already found in the skin, over time, our body tends to lose this component, determining factors such as sagging, expression lines and wrinkles. The research aims to search for evidence in the literature, to gather and synthesize the knowledge produced on the relationship between filling with hyaluronic acid and the appearance of late intermittent edema through literature review. As for the method, it is an integrative narrative literature review. The search for references was carried out in the VHL, PubMed, SciELO databases, journals and journals of scientific publications (Science, Cell Stem Cell and Nanocell News) and government websites (Brazilian Society of Dermatology and Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery). As a result, articles and protocols were identified that fit the established criteria. In conclusion, the articles show evidence of patients affected by the phenomenon of late intermittent edema caused by procedures with Hyaluronic acid.
