Heterogenous bone graft has been widely used due to its high availability in the market and its good prognosis in the widest range of cases. In this case, a heterogenous bone graft was used for bone formation in a patient with bone loss due to a periapical lesion of element 44. For the purpose of guided bone regeneration, a collagen membrane and semi-rigid containment were used to stabilize the dental element. The case was carried out in 2014 and, after 8 years, we observed satisfactory bone regeneration, with the dental element maintained and without mobility or recurrence of the periapical abscess.
