The challenges for recycling and reuse of Tetra Pak® packaging are studied in this paper. The objectives of this study are to describe the structure of Tetra Pak® packaging, to identify and describe the different cases of reuse and recycling actions of this product in Brazil and, finally, to identify and describe the perception of the population about the reuse or recycling of this type of packaging. As a method, a literature review was used, and an opinion survey was also carried out with 50 participants to identify their knowledge about reuse and recycling actions of this long-life packaging and everyone's opinion regarding related actions. reuse and recycling of these materials. The results showed that, in Brazil, there are recycling initiatives in companies, mainly with the aim of recycling aluminum and paper, among the research the results point to the use in roofs, thermal insulation in wooden houses and other objects. Among the participants, some know some recycling and reuse actions, they are unable to dispose of it correctly due to lack of selective collection and understand the need to collect this garbage properly so that it has the correct destination. It was concluded that there are initiatives that seek to solve the recycling and reuse of Tet Tetra Pak® packaging, some still in the experimental field, which may be a precursor to a less aggressive future for the planet. It was also understood that it is necessary to innovate in these packages in two ways: first by improving their material structure to provide better recycling alternatives and secondly by educating the population and municipal management to adapt and dispose of this waste to seek more favorable alternatives to the environment.
