Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is currently considered one of the major health challenges, making it essential to monitor the behavior of seasonal viruses and the emergence of new etiological agents. In the midst of the current pandemic moment, with the health system overloaded and the high transmission of respiratory diseases, the precariousness of hospitals is reflected. In view of this reality, the article aims to analyze the epidemiological profile of SARS including COVID-19 in the state of Goiás, from 2020 to January 2021. To this end, a cross-sectional, descriptive and retrospective study was carried epidemiological profile of SARS including COVID-19 in the state of Goiás, from 2020 to January 2021. To this end, a cross-sectional, descriptive and retrospective study was carried out from 2020 to January 2021 in the state of Goiás, taken from openDataSUS. The results describe the SARS cases found in the reported records, of which the predominance of COVID-19 occurred in a high outcome of general hospitalization and ICU, thus resulting in a high morbidity and mortality. Analyzing the current scenario, we emphasize the importance of identification, notification and proper management of cases.
