THE SELF-ESTEEM OF WOMEN WITH BREAST CANCER: NURSING GUIDELINES: A REVIEW

Introduction: Increased incidence of cancer due to an aging population. Objetivo: This article aimed to define what has been published about nursing guidelines and the self-esteem of women with breast cancer. Methodology: Integrative literature review with a qualitative approach in order, through research, to obtain results on a specific topic for which articles published between 2011 and 2021 were used, the search for learning was through the SCIENTIFICEELECTRONIC Library Online database (SciELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Virtual Health Library (BVS) and the Nursing Database (BDENF). Results and Discussion: The study highlighted the importance of discussing this theme, which aims to contribute to raising awareness about late diagnosis and its comorbidities, and especially how this disease affects the population (women) in a greater quantity than the expected and also how it psychologically affects the self-image that this woman has of herself, highlights the importance of therapeutic treatments and how health professionals, including directly nursing professionals, can have a direct impact on the lives of these patients and as a good preparation directly influences the acceptance of these people in relation to the diagnosis. Conclusion: Although there is still a lot to be done, if there is at least the foundation, understanding and empathy on the part of health professionals, especially nurses, in this way it will be possible to promote security and trust, ensuring the greatest possible collaboration in self-care for mental and physical health during coping with this pathology.
