PERFORMANCE OF THE SOCIAL SERVICE WITH WOMEN WHO SUFFER FROM DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE

This paper proposes to expose and analyze the incidence of violence against women in Brasil performance of the institution and Women's House, putting the focus on the act professional Social Worker. A study was conducted on the Maria da Penha Law and its innovations, complemented by a subsequent questioning about the centrality of the penal protection in combating the serious problem of violence against women in the country. We approach the reality of the Oyster River, through interviews with the social worker responsible for the care of the Reference Center - Women's House, and by means of a statistic that encompasses women seen between the months of December to February. Through this research, it was observed that with the enactment of Law 11.340/06 there was a significant increase in complaints. However, the incidence of this type of violence has changed little.
