Methylphenidate is a psychostimulant drug that is used for people who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, better known as ADHD, and can be consumed by children and even adults. Methylphenidate prescribed in the right doses and with the pharmacist's redoubled attention in dispensing the drug may have beneficial effects in the administration of this drug. Otherwise, the exacerbated use of methylphenidate may bring its side effects, which may cause disorders to the central nervous system (CNS) leading to the consumption of increasing doses and bringing dependence on this drug in the future.
