Depression is a pathology that affects people globally, growing every year. Its symptoms include physical and emotional exhaustion, affecting the individual's interaction with the community. Faced with cases of disease, the objective of this study is to present a review of the narrative literature, with the purpose of investigating the use of Hypericum perforatum in the treatment of depression. SciElo, PubMed and Academic google, articles published in the years 2006 to 2021, were used as a basis. This species is capable of causing the reduction and reuptake of serotonin, the reduction of mood and the progressive reduction of serotonin, the reduction of the mood sensation of depression, the correction of the action of its main hiperic compounds for progressive reduction of depression. The studies studied can be considered as adequate treatment for the methods studied, as they cannot be studied with light measure, the treatment must be suitable for medical treatments, as they can be studied with other methods. the pharmacological effect.
