THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE OF TAX BENEFITS AS A MEANS OF PROMOTING THE LOCAL ECONOMY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

According to IBGE data, in 2020 Brazil presented a GDP - Gross Domestic Product - of approximately R$ 7.4 trillion reais, in turn 3.8% lower than that compared to the previous year. A peculiarity about this data draws attention, after all, only 30% of this amount, equivalent to R$ 2.2 trillion reais, was generated in the North, Northeast and Midwest regions of the country. In terms of population, still for 2020, the IBGE estimated 211 million inhabitants in Brazil, distributed in 56.3% in the South and Southeast regions and 43.7% in the others. In turn, regarding the percentage of relative area, the North, Northeast and Midwest regions are responsible for 82.4% of the Brazilian territoriality, while the South and Southeast regions have only 17.6%.
